Living Room & Family Room Packing Tips
When packing and moving your family room or living room, the first thing you will find is the vast variety of the types of items that you have to pack. Many of the items require special attention and care.
When packing your belongings in the family room or living room, you can often use regular newspaper to wrap items versus the packing paper. However, this depends on the item. If you are concerned about newspaper print rubbing off on your item, you should still use packing paper like you do in the kitchen. When moving and packing books, there are only a few important things to remember. The most important thing to remember about moving and packing books, is although one book is not heavy, several books together inside of a moving box can quickly and easily become too heavy to carry. Therefore, always pack your boxes inside of the All Purpose Moving box. This moving box is designed for books and will be difficult to over pack.
Book packing guidelines
1. If you are moving out of state, make sure you carefully review which books you want to pack and keep, and which ones you could donate or sell at a garage sale. The reason is, when moving out of state you are charged by the weight. Books are heavy, which will increase the cost of your move.
2. Even if you are moving locally, sorting through your books to decide which ones you want to keep is still a good idea. You don’t want to pay movers by the hour for books you don’t want.
3. Stand books upright vertically in the moving box, with the spine next to the side of the box snugly fitting.
4. Be careful about placing books inside of a storage unit that does not have temperature controls. Books can be damaged if they are too dry or too moist.

6. Alternate packing heavy books and lightweight books in each moving box. The light books and the heavy books together will provide stability and prevent against the moving box becoming too heavy.

General Guidelines for packing photo albums
1. Do not place photo albums in any type of storage unit if you can avoid. Even slight temperature changes can damage photo albums.

Tips for moving televisions
1. Local movers will often put thick pads around the television to protect, so no boxes are used. Ask your mover.
2. Keep your cords together and label them. When unpacking it is easy to forget which cord goes with which device.

Moving Box Delivery recommends that you pack CDs/DVD's in the All Purpose Moving Box. If you have a CD holder that circulates, often the CD/DVD entire stand will fit inside of the All Purpose Moving Box as it is a deep moving box.
If you do pack an entire CD stand inside of a box, make sure you tape around the CDS so they do not fall out. Wrap packing paper around the CD case and fill with crumpled newspaper or clothes until the moving box is completely filled and supported with padding.
Write FRAGILE on your moving boxes, as CDs are delicate and need extra care when moving. Always store CDs/DVD's out of direct sunlight and far away from any heat sources. Heat can cause damage to CDs.
Properly packing and moving picture frames is important, as picture frames contain with precious memories of loved ones that you want to make sure you protect.
Therefore, Moving Box Delivery recommends that you wrap all of your picture frames in the All Purpose Moving Box with packing paper to provide padding and protection.
Simply roll up the picture frame in packing paper, and place in your moving box. The packing paper provides cushioning and protection for your frames.
Additional Packing Picture Frame Tips
1. Add an extra layer of foam to more delicate and fragile picture frames before you place the packing paper on top. If you use foam, then regular newspaper can be used to provide extra padding on top.
2. Make sure that you have crumpled newspaper layers in your moving box, so frames are not rubbing against other frames, even though they are in packing paper.
3. On the top of the box, fill in all gaps with crumpled newspaper until it is completely full. (This keeps the box strong and it will not compress)
4. If the frame is loose on the back, it is a good idea to place a piece of tape on the back of the picture frame to make sure that the frame stays in one piece.
5. Place the word FRAGILE on the moving box and write PICTURE FRAMES.
6. It is a good idea to move your picture frames yourself. Third party insurance can not protect you if something were to happen to your pictures. Anything else is replaceable, but memories are not. So if possible, Moving Box Delivery recommends that you transport you photo albums and the moving box that you have frames inside of.
Moving and packing candles is something that you have to be careful with, because it is very easy for candles to melt inside of a moving truck, and/or inside of storage.
- Many moving companies ask that candles and crayons are not packed inside any of the moving boxes for this reason.

Additional Candle Packing Tips
1. Never put candles in a storage unit, as they can easily melt.
2. Never pack anything else in your candle box in the event you do experience melting.
3. Pack your candles right before you move them, and then unpack them right away at your new home. Candles quickly get hot sitting inside of a moving box.
4. Make sure that you have crumpled newspaper layers in your moving box, to provide padding and insulation for your candles to help keep them cool.

Tips for moving Stereos
1. Disconnect all cords and cables from your stereo before your movers arrive. Mark all labels with what each cord is and where it goes to. It is easy to misplace cords while moving.
2. Some manufactures have special instructions for moving and packing, so check in your stereo user guide.
3. Local movers will often put thick pads around your stereo to protect.
4. You can also place your stereo in a moving box, with thick pads around your electronics. Be sure to write FRAGILE Stereo on box.
When moving and packing toys, there are a few simple things to remember to make packing and moving toys easier.
Moving Box Delivery recommends that you pack toys inside of the All Purpose Moving Box. Several toys together, depending on the types of toys can get heavy. Also, the fewer the number of different toys you have inside a moving box, the more protected they will be.
If a toy is very lightweight and large in size, use a larger moving box such as the pillow moving box or the pots and pan moving box.
- Most of the time regular newspaper is acceptable to pack and wrap toys in, particularly if they are plastic. Delicate antique toys should be wrapped carefully with packing paper or foam, and placed in their own moving box with a lot of padding.
Additional Toy Packing Tips
1. The most challenging aspect of packing toys is keeping all the parts of the toys together. Make it a game and have your children help put all of their toys in piles prior to packing.
2.To help ease the stress of unpacking, ask your kids to pick out their five favorite toys and place them in their own moving box. Tell your children that the #1 moving box is the first one that will be unpacked.
