Wrap non stick frying pans with packing paper to prevent scratching.
It’s packing time. I surely know that when you
buy moving boxes, that is the easy part. Then comes the time when you have to start packing them. Arg. So I wanted to put together a few tips to help make packing easier and share a few tips that people don’t often discuss after they buy boxes and get them home.
Tip #1: Wrap your frying pans with packing paper
I used to pile all of my frying pans; my copper frying pans, Al Clad pans, you name it inside of a moving box. I didn’t wrap them because ……well I didn’t know any better.
The problem with doing this is there is a big chance that your frying pans will scratch. To prevents scratches on your frying pans when packing and moving, wrap packing paper around your frying pans and they will be perfect and scratch free once you get to your new home.
Please note, when you
buy moving boxes and supplies from Moving Box Delivery in a moving kit, it will include
packing paper.
Tip #2: Don’t over tape your boxes
People often put too much tape on their moving boxes
When you buy boxes and start packing, it is a typical thought process that applying ”more” tape means that your boxes will be more secure. That is not true. Not only will you spend more time packing and taping, but you will spend a lot of time getting all that tape off when you are unpacking.
Believe me, I have seen boxes taped up, down, and all around using rolls and rolls of tape where you actually needed a box knife to unpack each box. If you use high quality moving tape, you will only need one strip of tape accross the top and bottom of the box, unless the moving box is unusually heavy. (Make sure that you have the strip of tape fully cover each side, at least 4 inches down on each side.)
Tip- #3- Label your moving boxes
Moving Box Labeling-Indicate which room your boxes should be placed in
It is critically important to label your moving boxes. If you
buy moving boxes from Moving Box Delivery, your moving boxes include an imprinted moving labels
on the box itself where you can check off which room the box should be placed in.
This is very important to do so your movers know what room to place your belongings inside of. Otherwise you will find a stack of moving boxes in your garage or your living room and will spend days and days moving your boxes from the garage to the room that you want to unpack it in. Labeling your moving boxes will save you hours and hours of time unpacking, because all of the moving boxes will be placed in the correct room of where you want to unpack them.
Tip #4- Write fragile on any box that has valuables inside
When you buy boxes write fragile on any moving box that has valuables
People buy boxes of quality to make sure that their valuables are protected. However, many people often forget about the importance of communicating with your movers on which boxes have fragile items inside of them
Don’t forget to write fragile on any moving box that has fragile items inside of them.
Tip #5-Buy boxes to hang your clothes inside of
Many people try to transport their hanging clothes in the back of their car; making multiple trips from their old home to their new home. I used to do this all the time. I had no idea that there was a box that was designed for holding hanging clothes. Not only does it take a long time to manually move your hanging clothes, but it doesn’t protect them from being ripped, torn or stained.
When you move your clothes in the back of your car, a lot of your clothes will also need to be ironed! You have enough to do when unpacking other than ironing!
